FINANCIAL PEACE TIPS
by Gered Lambert
"For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?"Luke 14:28
If your finances are standing in your way of pursuing God's calling of adoption then we have a few biblical and practical applications to help you remove that barrier. The scripture above is a great start to heading in the right direction. It is key to have a firm grasp on how much money you make and how much you spend. We encourage you to begin tracking your spending. This will make you aware of where your money goes and reveal behaviors needed to change. After that, we encourage you to plan for where you want to go. You must "count the cost" of adoption and "count the cost" of spending behaviors currently possessed. So, we invite you to "know well the condition of your flocks" and "count the cost" of your current situation. Then allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in making necessary changes to enjoy the journey of your adoption. The best way to do that is a BUDGET, which we'll talk about next time! Also, if you are interested in attending one of our Financial Peace University classes, please see class info here.

Joseph
by Dana Hunter
Joseph needs a family that would like to adopt him or foster him. Joseph is a very kind-hearted 13-year-old boy with an engaging smile. Joseph is very artistic and loves to draw pictures of his favorite Super heroes. His favorite super hero is none other than Spider Man. Joseph also likes to show off some of his best Karate moves. He is very talented and bright. Joseph makes A’s and B’s in school and is an exceptional reader. His teachers and caretakers love his humble and meek personality. He is often called upon to help out in the classroom.
Joseph enjoys outdoor activities, particularly hunting and fishing. Although somewhat shy, Joseph lights up when talking about his favorite video games and movies. Joseph’s favorite movies are Spiderman and 300.
Joseph is very open to being in a new family that will give him the love and support that he needs.
For more information on Joseph, please contact Tawyna Moore at the Baton Rouge Regional Office of Community Services at (225) 922-3099. Also, if you have an interest in foster care adoption, you can also visit www.adoptuskids.org
